The South Korean government will fund the project, which also hopes to provide information communication and technology or ICT services, connecting the public with government agencies, the island’s key ICT Agency said Wednesday.
The network will initially run across 325 locations, each equipped with internet, email, and enable government-to-government voice services to be connected over the internet.
Samsung has to put in the basic hardware and install a Local Area Network (LAN) and a Wide Area Network (WAN) to connect all government departments, through a LGN hub. The Korean firm also has to put in a help desk, desk-side support and train staff to run the network.
