Offering greater value to its tenants, the World Trade Centre (WTC) in Fort together with Dialog, has put in a fibre optic internet backbone in the twin towers.rnrn
The fibre optic backbone put in place at a cost of US$ 650,000, spans to the length of both towers, providing WTCs tenants with ldblquote on tap dblquote or ready to use high capacity date services including internet access. rn

rnThe backbone will also support the tenants intranets, reducing their investment in having their own IT systems.rn

rnRemza Ghouse, Senior Deputy General Manager, Overseas Reality Limited, the owners and managers of the Colombo 1 property says adding the new infrastructure was part of their evolving strategy to offer the most attractive office space in the city. rn

rnThe backbone is also expected to be a winning factor in attracting IT firms to the towers. rn

rnGhouse says the WTC is already attracting scores of IT related firms and the fibre optic backbone will help the growth further.rn
