A media report from Oman, quoted an official as saying that the airline was not able to say when Oman Air will resume flights to Sri Lanka and the original dispute over a 2003 bilateral agreement will be resolved.
"Oman Air is not certain of the reasons why our daily operations have not been sanctioned by the Sri Lankan Civil Aviation Authorities," the airline's chief commercial officer, Barry Brown was quoted as saying in the Times of Oman.
"Oman Air and the Directorate General of Oman Civil Aviation filed all the correct documents that were required to commence daily services to Colombo.
There was a "lack of information being supplied" Sri Lankan aviation authorities, " correspondence remains unanswered" and Oman Air did not have a "clear picture" as to why Sri Lanka had not granted the rights under the 2003 air services deal, he had said.
Brown was also a former Sri Lankan Airlines employee under Emirates management.
