Others who earn degrees with their own money from affiliated private colleges also contribute by working in productive sectors.
Unemployable graduates, who believe that the society owes them a living have successufully carried out the tax grab scheme for years. The Island newspaper said as association of graduates had promised 8,000 jobs in 2007, 15,000 jobs in 2008 and 17,500 jobs in 2009.
"The 2012 budget totally neglected the unemployed graduates," the newspaper quoted the convener of the Combined Association of Unemployed Graduates, Lunugamvehere Kalyanaransi thera as saying.
