Cabinet nod has been received to issue one-time visas to tourists for a period of one year through electronic travel authorization with multiple entry permission, subject to 90 days maximum that can be stayed in the country at one time.
For that, the country will charge a fee of US$ 200 for a business visa and residence visa for a period of one year.
According to the existing arrangements, a single entry visa can be issued to a tourist coming to Sri Lanka for a period of 270 days from the date of arrival.
Under the existing visa fee system, a tourist has to pay US$ 685 when obtaining a visa to stay in the country for a period of one year.
