Dec 01, 2020 (LBO) – Sri Lanka's government is bringing in new laws to fully protect investments in order to attract more Foreign Direct Investment and encourage more local investment, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa said.
Delivering a televised speech at the Sri Lanka Economic Summit 2020, the President said that they are committed to enhancing the ease of doing business in Sri Lanka so that returns on investment can be generated faster.
"Our overreliance on loans must come to an end. That is why the focus of the Government is on fostering investments," he said.
"We must attract more Foreign Direct Investment and encourage more local investment to drive our economic growth. With this in view, the Government is bringing in new laws to fully protect investments.
