June 27, 2013 (LBO) - President Mahinda Rajapaksa has left of Tanzania and Seychelles on the first by a Sri Lankan president to the countries, where he will meet national leaders and attend business forums, his office in Colombo said. Seychelles’ James Alix Michel had visited Sri Lanka last year. President Rajapaksa will attend the island's national assembly and take part in a business forum.
In Tanzania he have discussions with President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete and a forum on International Smart Partnership Dialogue in Dar-es-Salaam.
Seychelles had voted in favor of Sri Lanka at the 11th Special Session of the U.N. Human Rights Council in 2009.
At an April 2013 meeting of the Commonwealth Ministerial Action Group (CMAG) Tanzania supported Sri Lanka hosting the summit.
