Dec 02, 2019 (LBO) - The yer‐on‐year inflation as measured by CCPI is 4.4 percent in November 2019 and inflation calculated for October 2019 was 5.4 percent, the Department of Census and Statistics said.
Year on year inflation of food group has decreased from 6.8 percent in October 2019 to 4.6 percent in November 2019 while that of non‐food group has also decreased from 4.8 percent in October 2019 to 4.2 percent during the month.
The CCPI for all items for the month of November 2019 was 131.7 and it records an increase of 0.
4 index points that is 0.29 percentage points compared to the month of October 2019 for which the index was 131.3.
This represents an increase of expenditure value by Rs.233.00 in the “Market Basket”.
Increase in the index point by 0.29 percent was due to the expenditure value increases of food items by ‐ 0.28 percent and non food items by 0.
02 percent respectively, the department said.
For the month of November 2019,on year‐to‐year basis, contribution to inflation by food commodities was 1.38 percent.
