Nov 06, 2019 (LBO) – Presidential Candidate Sajith Premadasa says that the government will not sign the Millenium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Agreement before the election.

Ududumbara Kashyapa stated that if the agreement is to be signed following the election, it will be done so after discussions in Parliament.
Premadasa added that he will not enter into any agreement which is harmful to the country and said that any decision on the agreement will be reached after holding discussions with the Maha Sanga.

Following the decision, Ven. Ududumbara Kashyapa Thera has ended his fast unto death.
Ven. Kashyapa Thera had also received letters from the Prime Minister and Presidential Candidate Gotabaya Rajapaksa assuring that the agreement will not be signed before November 16th.
