Jan 02, 2017 (LBO) – Sri Lanka’s telecommunications blue chip Dialog Axiata today informed the stock exchange that Supun Weerasinghe has been appointed as the Group CEO with effect from yesterday.
Dialog Axiata said the board of directors of the company approved the appointment of Weerasinghe as an executive director of the Company.
“Weerasinghe presently has no relevant interest in shares of the company,” Dialog Axiata said.

“Dr Hans Wijayasuriya would continue to serve as a Non-Independent, Non-Executive Director on the board in the capacity of a nominee director of Axiata Group Berhad.”
Prior to his new appointment, Supun was the CEO and Managing Director of Robi Axiata Limited in Bangladesh from 2014 to 2016.
He is a fellow member of CIMA UK and holds an MBA from the University of Western Sydney, Australia and is an alumnus of the Harvard Business School.
