Apr 27, 2016 (LBO) – The government will never allow any harm to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the nation, referring to a recent resolution by the Northern Provincial Council, the President emphasized.
Addressing the heads of media institutions at the President’s House in Colombo today, President Maithripala Sirisena added that even though anybody could pass any resolution, the government will never allow Sri Lanka to be divided or bifurcated.
President said the top most priority of the government is to create legal, constitutional and political conditions in Sri Lanka to ensure that corrupt, rotten, autocratic regimes will not come to power in the future.
The Northern Provincial Council recently passed a resolution calling for a federal solution where it seeks to establish separate administrative unit for North and East as a Tamil-speaking state.
Chief Minister of the Northern Province, C.V. Wigneswaran, submitted the resolution to the Provincial Council which contained policies that should be adhered when drafting the new constitution in Sri Lanka.
Wigneswaran who is also the co-chairman of Tamil People's Council that formed to look into the Tamil people's well-being recently published their final proposals on a political solution.
Tamil People's Council said it is the first time in history such a political proposal has been developed by consulting Tamil People all over. The council said the proposal would be handed over to the Tamil Leadership as well as to the International community directly.
The 20 page final proposal that initially highlighted the federal constitution without hierarchical conception of State is reproduced below.

Lot of alienating dreams. All I read that North Tamil politicians are genuinely against the coexistence and peace. Such a shame.
If everybody can live happily in a one country , why you need different states for different nationals ? There is no problem between people in Sri Lanka. These stupid politicians are trying to create a one among us. Such a waste of people’s votes.
