Mar 23, 2018 (LBO) - Members of Parliament (MP) representing the United National Front (UNF) signed a motion supportive of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, yesterday.
The signed letter was handed over to the Leader of the House Lakshman Kiriella, who is due to hand it in to Speaker Karu Jayasuriya.
The Joint Opposition on earlier this week submitted a no-confidence motion to the Speaker against the Primer with 14 accusations against him.
The accusations included involvement in the Central Bank bond scam.
The signatures for the document were collected during the Government Group Meeting held at a Committee Room in Parliament.
According to Parliamentary sources, over 80 MPs have signed the motion.

However it is learnt that the Sri Lanka Freedom Party's Government Group were not present at the meeting.
The no - confidence motion is to be taken up for debate in Parliament on April 4.
