Sri Lanka stocks close down 0.09-pct
Sep 11, 2015 (LBO) – Sri Lankan stocks closed down 0.09 percent on Friday mainly on concerns of exchange rate and balance of payment issues with some telecom and banking sector stocks showing losses, brokers said.
The Colombo benchmark All Share Price Index closed down 6.45 points at 7,153.49 lower 0.09 percent.
S&P SL20 closed 10.40 points lower at 3,914.27 down 0.26 percent.
Turnover was 474 million rupees, down 588 million rupees, Thursday with 56 stocks closing positive against 68 negative.
The main index showed losses in Dialog Axita closing at 11.20 rupees down 0.10 rupees with over 8.5 million shares traded in three separate off the floor trades of four, 2.2 and 1.8 million shares each at 11.20 rupees.
Some banking stocks also made losses with Commercial Bank closing at 166.10 rupees, down 0.90 rupees and National Development Bank closed at 230.10 rupees, down 3.40 rupees.
DFCC Bank closed up at 185.60 rupees, up 0.60 rupees.
